It’s more than just the success at the current Olympic Games in Tokyo. Jamaica’s achievement as an independent nation spans 59 years today. This is the celebration of a journey with some troubles yet the freedom from British rule on August 6, 1962 heralds our foundation for jubilation. It is true that Jamaica’s worldwide impact has dominated the size of its space on the earth. There is such a positive vibration from this nation that continues to trumpet louder and has a ripple effect worldwide. However, there is a moment that Jamaica must rise to, and it’s embracing the values on which it was founded. As the people came together to watch the raising of our flag and hear our national anthem in 1962; we must remember to credit the author of that freedom. So to move forward we must recall.

To God be the Glory. One Love.
