Prophecies in the bible are happening everyday. There is so much that we know about the time we are living in today because of the Bible. Therefore, as Christians we know that nothing will ever come by surprise and we must study God’s word so we are not deceived. I started to study the bible more since this pandemic, and the living word of God has opened my eyes to so much.
Fear thou not; for I am with thee: be not dismayed; for I am thy God: I will strengthen thee; yea, I will help thee; yea, I will uphold thee with the right hand of my righteousness.
The strength of every human being is limited by his capacity to just be one out of billions. Therefore, we are constantly searching for information everyday to match and continue our own unique paths. As a guide book, the bible holds prophecies of the time to help us understand the rapidly changing world we live in.
Farther than the eyes can see, farther than my thoughts can imagine – it is the wisdom of God guiding me to know and understand the bible more. This is a wonderful growth in my relationship with Christ. One such area that I’ve come to learn more about is the prophecies given to the prophets in the Bible, and how many of them are helping us to understand the epoch we live in. Pulling away from all the information the world feeds us to spend quality time in the Word of God can be a challenge. This living water that flows through the 66 books of the Bible can draw us in so deep as we satiate the god given longing on our insides. It is a beautiful refreshing experience that can almost make you feel out of time.
Daniel was a man greatly beloved that angels would visit him to help him understand his visions. A truly humble and admirable prophet, he was a counsel to many kings during his time. In one of his final prophecies about the last days and the final judgement, the angel explained to Daniel that this vision was for the latter days.
Now I am come to make thee understand what shall befall thy people in the latter days: for yet the vision is for many days.
End time prophecies are popular now; the same as the prophecies in the new testament about the first coming of Christ. I do not equate prophecies and popularity on the same scale as prophecies are the living word of God in effect until the time of fulfilment. It’s a real deal. Therefore, you must ask the Holy Spirit to guide your reading of the scriptures and interpretation so everything does not become fanatical.
In Daniel 11, a very serious tone about the kingdoms and the man of sin is expressed without much reference to the time period of fulfilment. However, from the prophetic visions, the understanding is clear that there will be a lot of fighting against different kingdoms and sections of the world as the latter days are revealed. As a Christian journalist, I keep abreast of the news and political happenings in the eastern countries especially the Middle East, African eastern nations such as Egypt, and Asian nations, and most definitely Israel. This is not to get fanatical about events to happen such as the Anti-Christ and his reign but rather to watch the tone of world events as they line up with the fulfilment of God’s word.
But tidings out of the east and out of the north shall trouble him: therefore he shall go forth with great fury to destroy, and utterly to make away many
Just yesterday, the stagnant hold on democracy continued in Myanmar, and today in Russia, the Kremlin’s critic Alexei Navalny was jailed for 3 ½ years. There is a rise in the breaches of democracy as we see it, and a masked on padlock to protest and resistance that is becoming more forceful since last year. Furthermore, there is a high tension wire with the deceit of using democracy as a politically motivated cover for power and agenda fulfilment. Its’ interesting dark days that are yet ahead.
Politically, as Daniel prophesied in chapter 11, kingdoms are shifting and we will see the alliances that will soon happen as things continue to shake. For more in depth details you can check out the link below from itswritten.com. I’ve known ‘It’s Written’ as a trusted source since I was a little girl watching their broadcasts on early morning local TV about end time prophecies. I can’t believe that was years ago. Time.
Fast forwarded to Revelation, for a more detailed breakdown of the scope of end time prophecies; the book of Daniel will become a time synced link. Though Revelation uses a lot of imagery which is not always literal for the most part, it may become a little difficult to read and understand. However, with the guidance of the Holy Spirit, you pace yourself as he reveals all things. Guides are good to use; however, they must be thoroughly discerned as there are countless writings available to choose from.
My personal time reading the bible includes using basic study guides that explain the scriptures line by line (www.bible-studys.org). However, for context and broader understanding, I zoom in on linked books and scripture references to get a fuller understanding of the word. Yes, it involves a lot of discernment, but it creates a good bond with the Holy Spirit when you make time for Him (after all He’s with you always – John 14:16).
The Harvest Series on Joel 2 continues with Part 2 of ‘Understanding Bible Prophecies’ where I will share with you more from my studies of the bible which intensified when the pandemic began. My story is filled with challenges, and even just to get an article out is proof of God’s awesome grace. Learning about these prophets and how they endured much persecution but still continued to honor God should encourage every believer in Christ to stand fast in these last days and not become lukewarm. If we don’t resist to the end; how will others see the light in these dark days. Share, comment, and follow the Redeemed Christian Lifestyle Blog on Facebook and Instagram @redeemedja.
